Taylor Swift is making history through her record-breaking, critically acclaimed #1 album ‘Folklore’.The songstress became the only artist to ever debut at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200 album charts at the same time when her single ‘Cardigan’ hit number one on Monday. Song “Cardigan” took the No.1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 songs chart, dethroning DaBaby’s “Rockstar”. Billboard said Swift’s new album, ‘Folklore’, which was released July 24 after being announced by the singer only a day earlier, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart in the same week that song “Cardigan” debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Hot 100 singles chart. Folklore is Taylor’s seventh album to go number one, ‘Folklore’ will have 16 songs on the standard edition, but the physical deluxe editions will include a bonus track called “the lakes”. Taylor wrote on her Instagram “In isolation my imagination has run wild and this album is the result, a collection of songs and stories that flowed like a stream of consciousness. Picking up a pen was my way of escaping into fantasy, history, and memory. I’ve told these stories to the best of my ability with all the love, wonder, and whimsy they deserve. Now it’s up to you to pass them down. folklore is out now”.

The music video of ‘cardigan’ feels like pages from a storybook, the music is soothing and authentic. Taylor is famous for writing songs about her life, and ‘cardigan’seems no different, it could be the story of Taylor’s life, how music took her to an enchanting world of stardom, she made many friends, and yet felt she dint have any, and when she felt all the fame and glamour was drowning her, she held on to her music to get back to where she truly belonged and found peace.

Official ‘cardigan’ Lyrics are Written by Taylor Swift & Aaron Dessner.

Vintage tee, brand new phone High heels on cobblestones
When you are young they assume you know nothing Sequin smile, black lipstick
Sensual politics
When you are young they assume you know nothing

But I knew you Dancing in your Levi’s
Drunk under a streetlight I knew you
Hand under my sweatshirt Baby kiss it better
And when I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone’s bed You put me on and said I was your favorite

A friend to all is a friend to none Chase two girls, lose the one
When you are young they assume you know nothing

But I knew you
Playing hide-and-seek and Giving me your weekends I knew you
Your heartbeat on the High Line Once in twenty lifetimes
And when I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone’s bed You put me on and said I was your favorite

To kiss in cars and downtown bars Was all we needed
You drew stars around my scars But now I’m bleeding

Cause I knew you Stepping on the last train

Marked me like a bloodstain I knew you
Tried to change the ending Peter losing Wendy
I knew you
Leaving like a father Running like water
When you are young they assume you know nothing But I knew you’d linger like a tattoo kiss
I knew you’d haunt all of my what-ifs
The smell of smoke would hang around this long Cause I knew everything when I was young
I knew I’d curse you for the longest time Chasing shadows in the grocery line
I knew you’d miss me once the thrill expired And you’d be standing in my front porch light And I knew you’d come back to me
You’d come back to me And you’d come back to me And you’d come back
And when I felt like I was an old cardigan Under someone’s bed
You put me on and said I was your favorite
