The movie revolves around a brilliant but clumsy high school senior, Quinn Ackerman (Sabrina Carpenter) who vows to get into her late father’s alma mater by transforming herself and a misfit squad into dance champions. Quinn is a straight A student, never gets into any trouble, is very studious and knows exactly what she wants to be, where she wants to go to college and how she is going to get there. So she forms a ragtag team of dancers in hopes of impressing the school at a dance competition. The only catch here is that she does not know to dance, and Quinn feels that dancing is the only way she can make it to her dream college. So now she needs to learn how to dance as her dreams depend on it. Enter Jordan Fisher as Jake Taylor, a talented-but-troubled choreographer and dancer, to help Quinn lead the team. This feel-good teen dance comedy is about finding your passion. Sabrina Carpenter and Liza Koshy’s friendship is something to look out for.

The film is written by Alison Peck and directed by Laura Terruso, with choreography from Aakomon Jones and produced by Alicia Keys, Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton. Sabrina Carpenter not only plays lead, but also wrote and sang her single, LET ME MOVE YOU, which appears in the credits. But, her talents don’t stop there, she also is an executive producer of the movie.

Filming of ‘Work It’ took place from June 2019 to August 2019 in Toronto and on the campus of California State University, Northridge in Los Angeles in December 2019.
