Mission: Impossible 7 – Tom Cruise to Perform Water Stunt
The seventh edition in the spy-thriller Mission Impossible franchise is in the shooting phase right now. The latest images from the set of Mission: Impossible 7 show how Tom Cruise is rehearsing an amazing water stunt. Director Christopher McQuarrie is making a comeback to the franchise for the third time after Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation in 2015.
Mission: Impossible movies are famous for the bold action; crazy stunt works and Tom Cruise’ impeccable performance. During February 2020, the production team and cast were busy in the initial phase of shooting in Venice, Italy when the pandemic situation got serious over there. Since then there have been many rumors regarding the shooting and release date. In July 2020, the production team was given permission to shoot in the United Kingdom, however, the option was not suitable for the makers of the film. Shooting in another location and country meant a complete change of plan, script, stunts, and situations.
Tom Cruise and the team have been seen working hard for Mission: Impossible 7. New images were released on Twitter, where Tom Cruise can be seen rehearsing a water stunt in the Venice canals. Cruise is seen jumping from one water taxi to another. However, Cruise and the rest of the crew present on the scene can be seen wearing masks due to the pandemic situation around the world.
Mission Impossible franchise is also famous because of Tom Cruise doing his own stunts. Over the years Tom Cruise has preferred doing most of his stunts with minimal CGI work. One of the best and dangerous stunt was performed by Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, where he climbed the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. He has also hung from a helicopter and skydove in Fallout and has clung to the side of an Airbus 400 at full speed in Rogue Nation. Though safety measures and precautions are observed by the production team, people love to see their favorite actor doing stunts himself and not using a stunt double. These dangerous stunts of course require a lot of training and rehearsal and can be dangerous as well. Tom Cruise suffered quite a serious injury on the sets of Fallout and definitely, the filmmakers are not ready to risk Mission Impossible’ biggest asset, Tom Cruise.
Though fans may be thinking the action scene and rehearsal is not that exciting as the previous stunts by Cruise. But a series of pictures and videos have been posted online where Cruise was seen doing some dangerous stunts as a motorcycle cliff scene, sequence high up in the mountains, and he was also seen a bit on top of a speedy train.
The movie is expected to release on November 19, 2020, as announced by Paramount Pictures, so the cast and crew are busy shooting for the film. A direct sequel of the movie, announced by the makers, will be released on November 4, 2022, which is also directed by McQuarrie.
